Government offers a basket of schemes with various benefits that can touch every aspect of lives of rural communities. Ranging from educational services, skill development, housing, sanitation, to the insurance of migrant workers, a combination of schemes per rural family can help address the unique household level issues which become barriers to adolescent empowerment, specially of girls.
This document, developed by the UMANG program, presents an overview of all government schemes meant for children, adolescents and their families. It is vetted by state level officials of Jharkhand Government and has been prepared after extensive discussions with officials of different departments.
This document is a useful resource for civil society organizations, government bodies and other stakeholders who work directly or indirectly with adolescents and their communities. This is a ready reckoner for Civil society organizations, frontline workers, programme implementers and policy makers who may use it in the context of adolescent empowerment in their programmes and intervention areas.
Note– This booklet is a compilation of “Government Schemes”. ICRW or organizations related to ICRW have played no role in the implementation of these schemes. The role of UMANG team is limited only to awareness generation and sharing of information on these schemes.
