
Shiney Chakraborty
Shiney received her Ph.D. in Economics from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). She also holds an M.Phil. and an M.Sc. in Economics from the University of Calcutta, and a B.Sc. (Honours) in Economics from Bethune College.

Shiney Chakraborty (she/her) is Senior Specialist, Research and Programs at ICRW Asia. Shiney is a dynamic economist, researcher, and program manager with years of experience in leadership, research, project execution, and policy advocacy. She has a passion for driving social change through evidence-based research.
Prior to joining ICRW, Shiney worked as a Consultant with the International Labour Organization (ILO), leading research on decent work in the platform economy in India. She also worked as an Associate Director for Jagori, a non-profit organization, where she co-led a team focused on feminist consciousness and women’s rights and managed organizational operations. Her past experience includes roles as a Senior Research Officer at the Centre for Budget and Governance Accountability (CBGA), an Assistant Professor of Economics at Amity University, and a Research Analyst at the Institute of Social Studies Trust.
