Deepannita Misra (she/her) is a Senior Research Associate at ICRW Asia. Prior to joining ICRW, Deepannita was a strategy consulting professional with Deloitte South Asia. As a part of the Government and Public Services consulting unit, she contributed to policy research, strategy formulation, gap assessments, and monitoring of turnkey projects revolving around social impact and digital transformation for the Government of India. Most significantly, she provided inputs for development, research, and capacity-building initiatives undertaken by government departments in the state of Himachal Pradesh, India, including the Department of Tribal Affairs and the State Labour Commission, and co-designed the roadmap for digitization of agricultural markets under the State Agriculture Marketing Board.
As a research and consulting professional, prior to Deloitte, Deepannita worked with Foundation for Ecological Security (FES), a reputed Indian non-profit, as Senior Project Manager (Learning, Monitoring & Evaluation), where she contributed to research and evaluation around gender, natural resource management (NRM) and climate change with international partners from IFPRI, Bioversity-Alliance and the CGIAR platform. She was also the co-lead of the Gender, Diversity, and Inclusion vertical at FES. Previously, she has also contributed to a pan-India study on gender-based violence (GBV) retrofitting as a Research Fellow with the India Gender Platform, The World Bank, New Delhi, and co-authored an impact assessment report with Athak Consulting on the status of school education in tribal belts of Madhya Pradesh, India, during the COVID-19 pandemic.
