Anweshaa has completed her M.Phil in Women's Studies from the School of Women's Studies, Jadavpur University. She also earned her Master of Social Work degree from the Department of Social Work at the University of Delhi.

Anweshaa Ghosh (she/her) is working as Assistant Director, Gender and Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE), on a Ford Foundation-funded project focused on understanding and documenting models implemented by program partners to address key barriers faced by informal women workers in India and Nepal. Her work centers on building evidence around effective strategies that support women’s entry into and sustained participation in the labor force. This involves close collaboration with partners, conducting field research, reviewing literature, analyzing data, and contributing to written outputs. She is passionate about women’s economic rights and building research-based evidence for social change and impact that is deep and sustaining.

She is a multi-method researcher with over 18 years of experience. Prior to joining ICRWAsia, she served as a Research Fellow and Program Lead at the Institute of Social Studies Trust, where she led the Gender and Digitalization of Work theme. Her work has focused extensively on women’s economic empowerment, particularly in the platform economy, the future of work, the care economy, and skilling. She has also contributed to several evaluations and designed and developed the online course, Facilitating Gender Transformative Evaluations.

Anweshaa has also worked with organizations such as Sama – A Resource Group for Women and Health, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of India, and Pratham Gujarat Education Initiative.
