Ajaa Sharma

Ajaa Sharma (she/her) is working as Assistant Director – Gender and Education at ICRW Asia. Ajaa has worked in the domain of education with a focus on school systems, teacher education, gender and education and language-literature blended pedagogy. She has worked across strategy, program design, implementation, and assessments, closely engaging with teachers, school leaders, communities, and government systems. She has extensive experience working with government schools, designing and supporting shifts in teaching and learning mindsets and practices and life skills.

Some of her previous roles include – facilitating community, school and system support processes with Educate Girls in their early years; leading girls’ education programs and state partnerships at Room to Read, India; conceptualizing and anchoring educator professional development, blended courses at the Tata Trusts Parag Initiative; and most recently, designing learning journeys for Gender and STEM education programs integrating digital technologies, developing learning products using technology, strengthening Monitoring and Evaluation tools especially qualitative assessments and documentation at Quest Alliance.

At ICRW Asia, Ajaa is engaged to provide leadership to the implementation and evaluation of gender programs in school settings across diverse contexts, ensuring that evidence informs educational policies and practices.
