Matthew J. Mallow

Matthew J. Mallow (he/him) is an American attorney and business executive who currently serves as the Senior Managing Director and General Counsel of BlackRock, one of the world’s largest investment management firms. He was born and raised in New York City, and received his education from Columbia University and the Columbia University School of Law.
Mallow has had a distinguished career as an attorney, specializing in securities law and corporate governance. Prior to joining BlackRock, he was a partner at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, where he advised clients on a wide range of legal and regulatory matters.
At BlackRock, Mallow oversees the company’s legal and compliance functions, as well as its government affairs and corporate sustainability efforts. He is known for his deep knowledge of regulatory issues, and has been instrumental in shaping BlackRock’s approach to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) investing.
Mallow is also involved in several professional and philanthropic organizations. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, and has served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the University of Miami.
As a senior leader at BlackRock and a prominent figure in the legal and business communities, Mallow continues to be an influential voice in the fields of corporate governance, sustainability, and responsible investing.
