ICRW joins so many others in acknowledging that the conviction of Derek Chauvin for the brutal murder of George Floyd represents a critical step in advancing accountability among law enforcement and the criminal justice system for the ongoing unjust treatment of Black and brown Americans. We also acknowledge and support the work that remains to be done to dismantle systemic racism in America and around the world.

G7 Policy Brief: Women’s Economic Empowerment

Economic Empowerment, Employment and Enterprises, Migration

The Italian G7 Presidency has identified women’s and girls’ economic empowerment as a priority for the G7 in 2017. Building on the agenda of the UN High Level Panel on Women’s Economic Empowerment, the U.S. G7/G20 Advocacy Alliance has recommended three priority investments for G7 countries to uphold their Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) commitments. The Alliance calls on the U.S. government to play a leading role in encouraging the G7 to take these three actions:

  1. Build the talent pipeline.
  2. Dismantle barriers to employment.
  3. Recognize and support the role of migrant care workers.
