Creating Homestead Agriculture for Nutrition and Gender Equity (CHANGE)

Assets and Property Rights, Economic Empowerment

The aim of the Creating Homestead Agriculture for Nutrition and Gender Equity (CHANGE) project is to improve the nutritional status of women and children through homestead food production and nutrition behavior changes that enhance child growth and reduce child mortality. To achieve this, CHANGE supports small-scale farmers, mainly women, to grow micronutrient-rich fruits, vegetables, and animal-source foods and educates them about the importance and means to increasing household dietary diversity, as well as improving infant and young child feeding practices.

ICRW is working with Helen Keller International (HKI) to build the capacity of project staff in each of the CHANGE countries (Burkina Faso, Cote d’Ivoire, Senegal, and Tanzania) to conduct gender analysis and ensure greater gender equity in program interventions and benefits. ICRW’s scope of work covers three broad thematic areas: research, gender technical assistance, and gender capacity building.
