Join the Conversation: Reproductive Justice Without Borders
On Thursday, June 26 from 12:00 to 1:15 PM ET, ICRW and partners will host “Reproductive Justice Without Borders: Many Voices, One Movement.”
This virtual conversation will bring together movement leaders, advocates, and researchers from across the Americas to reflect on shared experiences and strategies in advancing reproductive justice—across borders, movements, and generations.
The event is part of ICRW’s VITAL project, a multi-country initiative exploring the dynamics of abortion rights movements in Latin America and the United States. We’re inviting all who have contributed to or care about this work to gather in reflection, exchange, and solidarity.
We will discuss:
✅ Lessons from wins and setbacks—from self-managed abortion strategies in Latin America to legal and cultural challenges in the U.S. South.
🔄 How movement strategies evolve under pressure, including how laws are interpreted, how stigma impacts access, and what it takes to make rights real.
🤝 The power and complexity of coalition-building across social movements, generations, and borders.
🧰 Why tools, language, and solidarity matter—and how local and transnational efforts are shaping a more inclusive, intersectional fight for reproductive justice.
We are honored to welcome the following speakers:
-
Ann Warner, Interim CEO, ICRW (Opening Remarks)
-
María Elena Pérez, U.S. Programs Director, Ipas
-
Raven Freeborn, Director of Programs, Avow Texas
-
Laura Gil, Director, Grupo Médico por el Derecho a Decidir
Moderated by: Lindsay Nelson, CEO, Repro Empowerment
