Nigeria Bans Female Genital Mutilation, But Advocates Say There’s Still More Work To Do

Last month, Former President of Nigeria Goodluck Jonathan signed into law a ban on female genital mutilation. But more work needs to be done to end this harmful practice – and this involves changing traditional cultural views that underpin violence against women, explains Stella Mukasa, regional director of ICRW’s Africa Regional Office.
