How Child Brides Filter Through The US Immigration System

Director of Policy and Advocacy Lyric Thompson was interviewed by KCBS in San Francisco on a recent report from the Department of Homeland Security that U.S. immigration laws were inadvertently facilitating child marriage. Thompson notes that because of the complexity of U.S. state and national laws around age of consent, there are a number of legal gaps where girls’ human rights fall through the cracks.
