Within India, several states have reported a substantial increase in TM use, and in many cases this increase has been more than the increase in modern method use between the two most recent rounds of Demographic and Health Survey. In view of this trend, it is important to understand the role of FP programs in expending efforts towards moving users from traditional method to modern method use. The Family Planning Monitoring Learning and Evaluation (FPMLE) consortium led by the Population Council in collaboration with FP2030 Asia and the Pacific Hub led by the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) are organizing a debate on whether the already motivated TM users should be persuaded to shift to modern methods, or should these users be supported in their choices by helping them achieve their fertility goals through dissemination of accurate method information. Learn more here. It is not necessary to RSVP, but for those who would like to, you can do that here.
