Dr. Surashree Shome is a Senior Technical Specialist at ICRW with over 20 years of experience.
Prior to joining ICRW, Surashree was working at Azim Premji Philanthropic Initiatives as a Senior Manager, Effects & Learning team. She was responsible for designing and conducting evaluations of the programs supported by the organization. Her role also involved designing monitoring and evaluation pathways, due diligence of prospective partners, and recommend strategies to deepen the impact of the programs.
After the completion of her doctoral degree in 2001, Surashree worked with various development agencies and institutes in the capacity of research and monitoring manager, such as Gujarat Institute of Development Research (Ahmedabad), Development Support Centre (Ahmedabad), and SEWA (Ahmedabad). In 2005, she joined the Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) of India, Gujarat as a faculty for NGO Development Program. From 2007 onwards, Surashree worked as a consultant to different national and international organizations such as ActionAid India, WaterAid India, Action for Social Advancement (Bhopal), Mahila Housing Trust (Ahmedabad), Arghyam (Bangalore) and WASTE (The Netherlands), Titan CSR (Bangalore). Her contributions included designing and executing research studies, program and project evaluations, policy analysis and developing manuals for organization development.
Surashree also worked with GRAAM as Research Head prior to joining ‘The Philanthropy’, and she is a Board member of the ‘Best Practices Foundation’, Bangalore.
