Rabsimar is a Research & Program Associate based out of the ICRW-India office. Before joining this role, she worked as a research consultant with ICRW as part of the Life Skills Collaborative project where she assisted in the development and validation of assessment tools for the project. She will work closely with Aditi Vyas and has around 3 years of experience.
Prior to ICRW, Rabsimar worked at the Vedica Scholars Programme for Women where she helped launch and build the Vedica Women’s Alliance, a project aimed at aggregating the voices of women leaders in the workplace, amplifying them, and advocating for change at the policy level. As part of the project management, she worked on curating monthly sessions, workshops, and critical-thinking engagements on crucial issues related to women in the workplace, drafting collaboration proposals, and building a research repository to inform the initiative’s activities.
Previously, she conducted two in-depth ethnographic research studies—one as part of Rajiv Gandhi Mahila Vikas Pariyojana, to understand synergies between Self Help Groups and female representation in the Panchayat raj (the local political system—village council), and the other as part of her thesis during her master’s degree with the Hijra community in old Delhi to understand the ideas of home and happiness in the community.
