Margi Goelz is an analyst for ICRW Advisors. In her role, Margi brings technical experience researching and designing opportunities for gender integration using sector-specific and sector agnostic frameworks in a variety of market settings. She specializes in gender integration in manufacturing supply chains to positively impact women’s wellbeing and experiences at work. She has supported technical research and design of strategies to better integrate gender within manufacturing facilities, alongside creation of self-diagnostic tools for manufacturers to diagnose strategies for gender integration into policies, procedures and operations beyond traditional audit and compliance measures. Margi has also contributed to developing ICRW’s supply chain assessment framework and methodology to diagnose barriers to gender equity and identify how they manifest in supplier factory settings, paying special attention to risk for gender-based violence and harassment.
Supporting the team’s gender-smart investing stream of work, Margi has supported development of gender lens screening and measurement tools for development finance institutions and private investors across sectors such as power, agriculture, and off-grid energy. She has also conducted formative research for clients to validate social impact program design and approaches, as well as to design accompanying programmatic monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) systems.
Prior to joining ICRW Advisors, Margi was a Development Officer at American Councils for International Education. She also has research experience examining gender dynamics in conflict zones, as well as evaluation of policy, programs and support provided by INGOs to women and girls who have experienced conflict.
