Jona Repishti is a Senior Project Manager with ICRW Advisors, based out of the ICRW-US office, where her work focuses on advising organizations, corporations and investors to apply a gender lens to their operations and develop strategic, impactful processes and programs to achieve global outcomes on gender equality. She brings over 15 years of experience in designing and scaling international development programs and innovative initiatives, activating partnerships with diverse stakeholders to achieve challenging goals and producing and disseminating high-profile thought leadership. She has regional expertise in East Africa, the Balkans and India.
Prior to joining ICRW, she led global entrepreneurship programs at D-Lab at the Massachusetts Institute for Technology. In this role, she ran the Scale Ups Fellowship for social entrepreneurs, supported accelerators in places like Ghana and India, organized and facilitated global workshops to tackle gender barriers and bridge the gender financing gap and developed and disseminated practitioner-friendly research and strategy tools. During this time she developed expertise in experiential learning and participatory design methods. Before D-Lab, Jona worked and carried out projects for various international organizations including UN OIOS, UNDP, and CARE z – working on monitoring and evaluation, decentralization, capacity building projects. She was also the founder and Director of Mjaft! (Enough!) Foundation promoted civic engagement and philanthropy in her home country, Albania.
Passionate about using co-creation and innovation to amplify the voices of women, local leaders, and marginalized communities, she works to support actors and ecosystems to move from intention to action in developing inclusive solutions for their needs.
