Collins Waweru Munene

Director, Operations, ICRW Africa

Mr. Collins Waweru Munene is a finance, operations and governance expert with over 18 years experience in small and mid-size enterprises (SMEs), and regional and international organizations in Africa, Europe, and the United States of America. Collins’ expertise is in administration, business development, communications and program management.

As Director of Operations for ICRW Africa, Collins ensures excellence in execution of programs; smooth day-to-day operations; and alignment of regional policies, protocols and processes, including those related to business development and communications with the global institution. Collins works closely with the regional director and with ICRW Africa staff to establish and maintain good management systems and practices within the organization.

Prior to joining ICRW, Collins worked at The Young Scientists Kenya as National Director and is credited for the program scale-up, growth and impact in Kenya, as well as building systems, processes and networks with governments and public and private partners. Collins also served as the Chief Operating Officer at The Worldwide Fund For Nature, Kenya (WWF-Kenya) and was instrumental in WWF-Kenya’s program design, efficiency and impact. At the Global Village Partnership (GVEP) International, Collins served as Deputy Regional Director – Africa, led the establishment of country offices and programs across Africa, and was credited for streamlining operations and governance.

Education: Collins holds a BS in Finance from San Jose University and is pursuing an MBA in Strategic Management. Collins is a Certified Public Accountant, Kenya (CPA-K) and a Certified Organizational Development and Change Expert by PROSCI.
