Anne McPherson (she/her) is the Vice President of Communications based out of the ICRW U.S. offices, where she leads the organization’s global communications team and oversees initiatives to elevate and amplify ICRW’s work and mission.

Anne has worked in global communications for over 15 years supporting non-profit, philanthropic, and private sector campaigns and clients. She has worked throughout the United States, Africa, Asia, Europe, and Latin America.

Prior to joining ICRW, Anne was a Senior Vice President at Handshake, a social change consulting firm in New York. In this capacity, she oversaw the company’s programming and communications during major global events including the World Economic Forum and UNGA, among other client projects. She started her own communications consultancy in 2020 to advise philanthropies and non-profits on strategy, media relations, and events. She has served as a Communications Officer at Open Society Foundations, Communications Director at Global Health Corps, and has worked at Rabin Martin and Edelman.

In 2015, Anne launched the Living Room Exchange to convene and connect early-stage social impact professionals during intimate salons with guest speakers. The Living Room Exchange continues to produce monthly newsletters that serve as a resource to nearly 1,000 professionals seeking opportunities and professional growth in the social impact sector.

Anne graduated from Yale University where she was the captain of the Varsity Gymnastics team. As an active Yale Women’s Athletic Network (YWAN) member, she helped coordinate the university’s 50th anniversary of women’s athletics and Title IX.
