March 8, 2024 – On the heels of International Women’s Day, ICRW’s leadership and advocacy teams will be attending the 68th session of the UN’s Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) from March 11-22 in New York City. The annual meeting is an opportunity for stakeholders to come together and revisit gender equality commitments, review progress on women’s rights and understand challenges women are facing throughout the world.

ICRW’s team will be on the ground for both public and private events focused on feminist foreign policies, caregiving, ending child marriage and financing for gender equality among other topics central to our mission. The organization will:

  • Co-host the Feminist Perspectives towards a Caring Economy event with the Government of Spain and UN entities as a part of our role with the Women’s Major Group
  • Speak about the Feminist Foreign Policy Index as an accountability tool for multilateral feminist policies at the International Peace Institute
  • Host a closed-door preview of the 2024 Feminist Foreign Policy Index with governments

“CSW is an important moment where ICRW can share our unique insights as a research institute to inform multilateral discussions on gender. We are embedded in critical conversations that reflect how global policymakers are addressing gender challenges today and, through our evidence-based approach, can help shape how future decisions will affect women and girls in all of their diversity.” Foteini Papagioti, Acting Deputy Director, Policy and Advocacy.

ICRW will also be participating and attending numerous events in New York with non-profit, private sector and governmental partners including the Financing Feminist Futures Symposium, The Climate Gender Equity Fund: Increasing Climate Finance that Drives Gender Equality Reception, Challenges and Best Practices for Advancing Multilateral Feminist Policies and the Gender Funders CoLab 10th Anniversary Reception, Addressing poverty and access to education to end child marriage, A Night of Solidarity With Palestinian Girls and  Young Feminists among others.
