At first she ran away and moved from friend's house to friend's house—hiding. But her brothers went to look for her, and when they found her, they gave her a "good beating." They tied her up. They delivered her to her husband—feet and hands bound, legs held apart—so he could consummate the marriage.

She tried several more times to escape then finally accepted her fate. She gave birth to a boy who died a year later.
