ICRW joined together with representatives from the UK and US Government, as well as NGOs around the world, to participate in the first ever Girl Summit, which brought together activists, experts and government representatives to mobilize efforts to end female genital mutilation (FGM) and child, early and forced marriage.

UK Prime Minister David Cameron and UNICEF will host the first Girl Summit, to mobilize domestic and international efforts to end female genital mutilation (FGM) and child, early and forced marriage (CEFM).  ICRW will participate in multiple events in the UK as well as Washington, DC.

Today the U.K. government and UNICEF jointly hosted the first Girl Summit to mobilize efforts to end child, early, and forced marriage as well as female genital mutilation. According to a 2013 report by UNICEF, 30 million girls are at risk of suffering genital mutilation  over the next decade.
