About the Library
The ICRW Library supports the research needs of ICRW staff and is open to visitors by appointment.
The collection includes more than 10,000 books, reports and papers that reflect the past and present research interests of ICRW.
Interlibrary Loan
The ICRW library participates in the Association of Population Library and Information Centers (APLIC).
ICRW engages in Interlibrary Loan with other libraries, but is unable to provide document delivery to individuals.
International Library Networks
Several international library networks provide free access to scholarly information and publications to researchers in low- and middle-income countries. Among them are:
INASP
The International Network for the Availability of Scientific Publications (INASP) is a cooperative network established in 1992 that aims to strengthen and promote access to and dissemination of scholarly information between and within countries. INASP offers free or low-cost access to scholarly journals to institutions in the developing world.
HINARI
The Health InterNetwork Access to Research Initiative (HINARI) is a World Health Organization initiative to provide free or nearly free access to the major journals in biomedical and related social sciences to public institutions in developing countries.
AGORA
An initiative of the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the AGORA site provides free and low-cost access to journals in the fields of food, agriculture, environmental science and related social sciences.
