Director, Poverty Reduction and Economic Governance (PREG) team
The International Center for Research on Women (ICRW) seeks a Director to lead its Poverty Reduction and Economic Governance (PREG) team which focuses largely on applied and policy research on development economics with a gender perspective. The Director, who will be member of ICRW’s senior management team, will lead the PREG team in developing and expanding its research portfolio.
Primary Duties:
The Director will:
- Mentor researchers in the team;
- Create a vision to guide the team's research and project development within the context of ICRW's strategic and business plans and her/his own and the team members' substantive interests;
- Identify and secure resources to raise funds for team projects;
- Ensure that all deliverables are of high quality and produced in a timely manner;
- Represent PREG team's research through publishing, presentations, speaking engagements and professional networks; and
- Will be responsible for financial planning and budgeting for the team's work.
Required Education, Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Ph.D. or equivalent in economics, preferably with a specialization in development, labor or agricultural economics or related topic;
- Minimum of seven years of research, program and/or policy experience on gender and development issues;
- Proven track record in securing resources;
- Strong research skills with good publication record;
- Excellent managerial and leadership capabilities;
- An ability to be creative and work collaboratively; and
- Strong writing and presentation skills.
