U.S. House of Representatives Hearing on Forced Child Marriage

The Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission of the United States House of Representatives will hold a hearing to discuss the global issue of forced child marriage. Anju Malhotra, vice president of research, innovation and impact at the International Center for Research on Women (ICRW), will testify on the causes, consequences and potential solutions to child marriage, which is a gross violation of human rights and an impediment to achieving U.S. development goals.
