Move to Action: Stigma Reduction and the South Asia Experience

ICRW and the World Bank will host a satellite session titled “Move to Action: Stigma Reduction and the South Asia Experience,” as part of the International AIDS Conference in Vienna. The session will offer new modeling evidence that makes the case for why reducing HIV-related stigma is critical for effective HIV programming. Experts will present findings from successful stigma-reduction efforts in South Asia that were supported through a competitive World Bank grants program. The session also will mark the formal launch of a new, global HIV stigma-reduction network.

The World Bank will launch its new publication, "Tackling HIV-Related Stigma and Discrimination in South Asia," and all participants in the session will receive a copy.
